By searching across Europe, we’ve created a completely ethical and sustainable bag.
Our mission: to use only the best materials and promote kindness toward people, the planet, and animals involved in the creation of the Pialin leather bag.
Starting with a brown leather bag & a black leather bag, to slowly expand our collection of handbags.
Consciously chosen leather
Through hours of research into materials and the fashion industry, we set out to find leather that is both eco-friendly and free from toxic substances for our leather bag.
We learned that much of today’s leather contains heavy metals and toxins. That’s why we chose biodegradable leather, free of harmful elements — a key step in creating a sustainable leather bag for modern use.
We also made it our goal to use European leather from food w production waste sources only, and ensure complete traceability back to the farms.

Traditional tanning can include arsenic, lead, chromium, and nickel — which are absent from our high-quality handbags.

At Pialin, we believe in building for the future from the start. That’s why we searched all across Europe to find trusted, long-term partners.
Our vision has always been to work with small production runs and family-owned manufacturers, ensuring a responsible supply chain for every laptop bag for women or convertible crossbody bag we design.

In collaboration with suppliers across Europe, we sourced custom hardware that matches our in-house convertible bag innovations.
Z I P P E R S
We tested multiple zippers from different manufacturers and chose the most durable zippers to ensure long-lasting use of every rucksack and crossbody bag.
C O A T I N G S
During development, we made sure to use only eco-friendly coatings — avoiding plastics entirely in our sustainable bags.

The vision for Pialin was always to build a multifunctional bag suitable for all occasions — without sacrificing comfort, and designed to last a lifetime.
Creating the perfect convertible backpack was a challenge for our small family business. But when everything came together — from the leather to the stitching to the minimalist bag design — we finally saw our dream become reality.

Using traditional tools from shoemaking, we’ve mastered the skill of hand-stitched leatherwork for our prototypes— paying attention to thread, holes, and needles for each stitch in your convertible handbag.

From the start, the Pialin bag has been the result of a family driven by creativity, functionality and admiration of craftsmanship.
Pia, the bag designer grew up in a small town in the south of Sweden. Growing up she early learned the value of durable materials and authentic production, which inspired her to create a honest, long-lasting handbag, accompanying you at every occasion.
